During this common procedure, your dentist will numb the area with an anesthetic, so you won\u2019t feel any pain during the extraction. You will likely experience some soreness for a few days afterward, but this can be managed with over-the-counter and prescribed pain relievers recommended by your dentist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myth #2 \u2013 It Takes a Long Time to Recover from an Extraction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It usually only takes 1 to 2 weeks for the socket to heal after an extraction, but most patients only feel lingering discomfort for a few days afterward. When you carefully follow the instructions of your dentist, you will be back to your normal schedule in no time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myth #3 \u2013 Wisdom Teeth Are the Only Teeth that Need to Be Extracted<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
